Drawn The Fool (Knutson /13)

I have thrown down the gauntlet

Drawn my lines in the sand

The tides will start receding

With the waving of my hand

I have climbed the highest hillside

And swam the drowning pool

Where others have drawn empty

I have drawn the fool

I take no notion lightly

I carry vengence like a curse

I am quick in passing judgment

For the better or for worse

Where the earth lies scorched and blistered

I’ve retained my cool

Where others draw conclusions

I have drawn the fool

I have sent my men to battle

While I’ve admired the view

The spoils of victory follow

In everything I do

I have exorcised the demon

And utilized his tools

And when I’ve drawn my last breathe

I’ll have drawn the fool
